UFTV News Justice Department Event 10.21.2021. The Justice Sciences Department in collaboration with American’s for Prosperity would like to invite you to attend a presentation to be delivered by Senator Rob McColley entitled: Criminal Justice Reform: Bail Reform and Why We Need It.
This in-person event will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 in the university’s Winebrenner Building, Room 254, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to all university students, administrators, faculty, staff and the public.
During the presentation, introductory speakers will address the importance of due process in the justice system and instances where the principle is violated. Guest speaker, Senator Rob McColley, a sponsor of Senate Bill 182, will then discuss how SB 182 can affect bail reform and current processes by reimagining bond schedules so they maintain their efficiency while protecting the community. The Justice Sciences Department and Americans for Prosperity look forward to seeing you at what promises to be an interesting and informative event!
